Installation guidelines for isolating floating floors with URSA® TSP "Good floor" panels
Required tools and materials:
1. Insulation foils URSA® SECO 200
2. Mineral glasswool insulation tape URSA® TRS
3. Mineral glasswool insulation panels URSA® TSP "Good floor"
4. Two-sided sticking tape URSA® TOP DK
Installation guidelines for isolating floating floors with URSA® TSP "Good floor" panels
Step 1
Before starting the installation make sure that the ceiling surface is exactly cleansed and, if necessary, levelled up using a dry subcrust or an equalising layer of concrete.
Step 2
In order to protect the insulation against moisture from newly built ceilings, before laying panels spread URSA® SECO 200 insulation foil 0.2 mm thick. Insulation foil edges must protrude above floor level. Foil belts should overlap by 30-40 cm, and their edges must be fixed with URSA®TOP DK double-sided adhesive tape.
Step 3
In order to avoid creation of thermal and acoustical bridges, place along walls URSA® TRS insulation tape protecting against transfer of vibration.
Step 4
Next lay URSA® TSP "Good floor" panels so that their edges adjoin tightly.
Step 5
Insulation panels must be protected against humidity from concrete mortar with a layer of overlapping 0.2 mm thick URSA® SECO 200 insulation foil. Minimum slab thickness is 40 mm, and it should be reinforced with steel net.
Step 6
It is recommended to place thermal insulation not only on basement ceilings, but also ceilings between storeys, especially where rooms are only periodically used.
Step 7
Floor heating installation should be placed directly on URSA® TSP insulation panels.
Step 8
Use of self-levelling cement or anhydrite mortars is allowed.
Step 9
For best sound insulation, use 30/25, 35/30, 40/35-mm URSA® TSP panels. Maximum panel thickness is 40 mm – use of thicker panels would result in too much deflection under the load of the surface layer.
