Guidelines for installation of URSA® glasswool
Required tools and materials:
1. Mineral glasswool insulation panels URSA® FKP "Energy saving house"
2. Mineral glasswool insulation felts URSA® DF40 "Warm ceiling"
3 Mineral glasswool insulation felts URSA® DF45 "Warm house"
4. Mineral glasswool insulation felts URSA® RF40/B1 "Good roof"
5. Insulation foils URSA® SECO 150
6. Insulation foils URSA® SECO 200
7. Roof membranes URSA® SECO 4000 S
Guidelines for installation of URSA® glasswool
Step 1
Thickness of the thermal insulation panels depends on the width of wall posts, it is usually the same, and must never be bigger. In case of outer walls, the insulation thickness is 140 mm, and 80 mm for inner walls.
Step 2
After cutting the packaging open, wait a few minutes until URSA glasswool expands to its nominal size.
Step 3
Cut the felt or panel (if the original size does not fit the post spacing) to the size of post spacing, leaving a 15-20 mm allowance needed for wedging of the URSA® wool belt. Felts are laid from the top downwards, while the panels from the bottom upwards.
Step 4
From inside install URSA® SECO 150 (200) insulation foil by fixing to wall posts with staples. Foil sheets should overlap by 10 cm. This foil constitutes a barrier protecting the thermal insulation against penetration of moisture. A similar situation occurs between horizontal partitions.
Step 5
For external skin it is possible to use URSA® V100 G “tongue and groove” moisture resistant chipboards. Fix roof membrane URSA® SECO 4000 S to the chipboard, with the grey side outwards.
Step 6
It the outer finish is from plaster or shielding wall of clinker brick, make a 2-3 cm ventilation gap as well as inlet openings at the bottom and air outlet under the eaves.
Guidelines for installation of URSA® V100 G “tongue and groove” chipboards
In mechanical terms, URSA® V100 G “tongue and groove” chipboards can be mounted in any orientation, but due to the speed and convenience of installation it is better to fix them to posts with the longer edge vertically. Due to chipboard elongation under the influence of moisture, leave 3-mm distance between the panels. In the regions where strong winds occur, it is recommended to install the panels for the whole height of the storey.
The thickness of URSA® V100 G “tongue and groove” chipboards reinforcing walls and constituting the base for siding or plaster should be 16 mm, and in inner walls – 13 mm.
Parameters of screws to fix the wall skin:
- length: 65 mm
- spacing 15 cm at the edges, and 30 cm in the area of the chipboard.
- before completion of final elevation, V100 panels must be protected against direct influence of precipitation.
