Three layer chinked walls

(WITH OR WITHOUT INSULATION GAP)

Guidelines for installation of URSA® glasswool

Required tools and materials:
1. Mineral glasswool insulation panels URSA® KDP1 "Super panel"
2. Mineral glasswool insulation panels URSA® KDP2/V "Hermetic wall"
3. Mineral glasswool insulation panels URSA® KDP1/V "Hermetic wall"
4. Mineral glasswool insulation panels URSA® FKP "Energy saving house"
5. Roof membranes URSA® SECO 4000 S
6. Insulation foils URSA® SECO 150
7. Insulation foils URSA® SECO 200

Guidelines for installation of URSA® glasswool

Step 1
After unpacking insulation panels wait a few minutes until panels expand to their nominal size.

Step 2

Panels are stuck on corrosion-protected spikes joining both layers of the wall (“hedgehog” method), paying attention not to tear the glass veil. Plastic disks on fixing pins press insulation panels to the wall, and thanks to their elasticity panels stick exactly to the wall surface. Panels must adjoin tightly so “thermal bridges” are not formed.

Step 3

Two-layer panel layout in so called “passing” order, when the top layer panels are oriented perpendicularly to the lower layer panels, is very tight, and hence profitable. Such arrangement may incorporate URSA® KDP1 as the lower layer, and URSA® KDP1/V (URSA® KDP2/V) as the top layer.

Step 4
If the outer layer of a laminar wall is made from materials of high diffusion resistance, e.g. clinker brick, then it is recommended to leave a 2-3 cm wide ventilation gap between insulation panels and lining. Also air intake must be provided in the lower part of the wall, and exhaust under the eaves, and also drainage of condensate from the ventilation gap.
