Guidelines for installation of URSA® glasswool insulation panels
Required tools and materials:
1. Mineral glasswool insulation panels URSA® KDP1 "Super panel"
2. Mineral glasswool insulation panels URSA® KDP1/V "Hermetic wall"
3. Mineral glasswool insulation panels URSA® KDP2/V "Hermetic wall"
4. Mineral glasswool insulation panels URSA® FDP1/V "Energy saving wall"
5. Mineral glasswool insulation panels URSA® FDP2/V "Energy saving wall"
6. Roof membranes URSA® SECO 4000 S
Guidelines for installation of URSA® glasswool insulation panels
Step 1
After unpacking insulation panels wait a few minutes until panels expand to their nominal size.
Step 2
Insulation panels are installed between elevation panels support grid so as not to damage their veil. For fixing, per 1 square meter use 4 pieces of mechanical connectors with a rustproof pin and a plastic disk.
Step 3
When outer lining is from aluminium, stone etc., the width of installed panels must be by 2 cm larger than the grid spacing. Panels must adjoin tightly so “thermal bridges” are not formed.
Step 4
It is recommended to place the panels in two layers in so-called “passing” order. The lower layer is URSA® KDP1 panel. The panels of the top layer are oriented perpendicularly to the lower layer panels.
Step 5
In case of increased requirements concerning thermal protection or mechanical properties (e.g. in the region of strong winds) it is recommended to use URSA® FDP 2/V or URSA® KDP 2/V facade panels.
Step 6
Installation works should not take place during rain because this may cause wetting of the insulation. During breaks in work, the insulation should be protected against direct influence of atmospheric precipitation.
Step 7
A 2-3 cm wide ventilation gap must be left between insulation panels and lining. Air intake must be provided in the lower part of the wall, and exhaust under the eaves, and also there must be a drainage of condensate from the ventilation gap.
Step 8
If only URSA® KDP1 „Super panel” is used in ventilated systems, a wind insulation must be made, e.g. from URSA® SECO 4000 S membrane.
